Danny Stieben currently works as a Software Developer & Integrator at USAA in Plano, Texas. He went to school at the University of North Texas with a major in Computer Science and minors in Business and German. Currently, he is attending UNT to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science with a focus in Computational Science, which includes algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and pattern recognition. He was also a newsletter editor and contributing writer at MakeUseOf from March 2011 until May 2016, focusing on Linux-related topics.

His fascination for computers began very early on when he was just five years old. More recently, he has generated a high interest in Linux since he began experimenting with it in 2008. He promotes free and open source software as well as Linux regularly, and is even registered as a contributor for the Fedora Project. All of this has influenced his interest in computers as well as his 5-year stint in tech-oriented freelance writing. He now enjoys tackling the complex problems that appear in a software programmer's everyday life.

Born in Germany, he resides in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. He is a proud bilingual who strives to find new ways that he can make a significant, beneficial impact on people's lives through his work.
